Before Web 2.0, the internet was really just a place where static websites were displayed.

You can use this training and online marketing to attract product customers, prospects for your business or even if you’re not in MLM, for any traditional small business or home based business.

The best of all, is that during this lead generation process, there are ways for you to monetise (earn money).
It's upfront retail money that you earn by selling e-commerce or information products.
You can become an affiliate to some excellent programs and merchants, that provide information or products of interest to your target market.
By doing this, you promote these products and earn commissions when sales are made.
In the MLM industry, this is so important because one really needs multiple streams of income to subsidise the business building phase while waiting for the residual checks to kick in.
If, for example, you are targeting network marketers who are looking for alternatives to cold calling and wasting money buying low quality leads, you might provide a solution by explaining attraction marketing principles and how to use the internet to do it.
You might recommend an E-book that covers this topic. If you are an affiliate to the E-book author's programme, you can earn commissions when your prospects buy it.
Or, if your target market is beginners who want to learn how to market online, you might recommend an easy to follow, step-by-step internet marketing course that shows you exactly how to do that.
If you are an affiliate, you will earn commissions when these people sign up.
Or, if you have people looking to register domains, build a website or set up an email autoresponder system, you would investigate the product, and if you liked it, join the affiliate programme. When your prospects buy any of these products, you will earn commission.

All this means is that the internet is a very effective way to allow your prospects to get to know you, like you and trust you, before they buy from you.
When you have set up the 3 components of your marketing system online, you have created a marketing pipeline for your prospects to enter into.
What is your marketing pipeline?
Its a system that prospects go through, that moves them forward through a series of steps, eventually leading to them making a purchase (and more than one purchase!).
Firstly, your point of contact is where they find you (remember, you have created nice "bait" to attract your target market to you).It's your marketing pieces you put out there.
If your content is rich and provides the answers/solutions to problems your prospects have, chances are they'll click onto one of the links in your piece.
You really need to know your target market, so that you can draw them in further to click on your link and opt into your list for more information.
These qualified leads are led to your Lead Capture Page. (If you are a newbie, you can use a pre-designed capture page of one of the affiliate programmes you have joined).
Here, the prospect gives you permission to contact them, when they opt into your list, on your Lead Capture Page.
Thirdly, now you can email them, putting your offers in front of them. In this way, prospects get to know you and like you...and hopefully buy from you!
You can "drip" emails onto your prospects, constantly giving them information and educating them about their topic of interest.
This positions you as an expert in your field, without pressuring them to buy.

So, at some point, when the timing is right, chances are these prospects will buy. And who do you think they will buy from? You of course.
The person who educated them with an over delivery of valuable information.
That is preselling. (Mike Dillard calls it "sellecation".....a mixture of the two words selling and education!
Once your lead has been educated and you have developed a relationship with them, they'll very often go on to buy products or services you recommend.
You can sell them either affiliate products or your MLM products and/or opportunity.

If you combine affiliate marketing with your network marketing business you can really get the best of both worlds.
By offering lower cost information or training products (that you are affiliated to)-to your interested audience you are more sure of making a sale.
People often buy while doing research before making a bigger financial and time committment- like what's required to join an MLM company.
These people pay for their education and become good leads for you in the process. This way, you are being paid to prospect and are generating cash flow before you even sponsor anyone into your MLM.
Affiliate marketing for network marketers is a sound way to generate cash flow while you are building your downline and waiting for residual checks to come in!
