Most Network Marketers are not aware that we can bring money in during the process of prospecting for leads. You may not have thought of this in your MLM business building process.

In the traditional way of doing Network marketing, we have been encouraged to only earn money from one income source: That is when we sell our MLM products or when one of our team members sell our MLM products.

In this model this means that the prospecting phase (the part where we are trying to find prospects for our products or business opportunity) actually does not bring in any money at all. In fact for most people it is a costly committment of both time and money.

With the new model of using the internet to attract leads, a whole new world of monetisation possibilities has opened up. 

While you may pay for online advertising to aquire those customers/reps, there are easy ways of earning cash flow up front during this prospecting phase. The beauty of it is you can start breaking even or even profiting, while you are building your residual income.

Sometimes this can be "make or break" for you- the reason for you staying in or quitting network marketing.

One of the most popular and easy ways of monetising like this is through affiliate marketing.

A word of caution...

Some old school MLMers are uncomfortable with monetization, because they feel it might distract their downline team from building the core Network Marketing business.

Actually it is an empowering process….and there’s nothing wrong with empowering people to have a business in profit. Most people in the networkmarketing business struggle- they put out a lot of time and money into growing the business, and they don’t get anything back.

Monetisation in MLM is particularly important, because it takes so long to develop a supportive residual income in the Network Marketing model.

So in the meantime to be setting up ways to bring in cash flow to keep you going is vital. This is what monetization in the Network Marketing industry lets you do.

It's a combination of network marketing, internet marketing and affiliate marketing- internet affiliate network marketing.

Here are some examples:

You can offer low cost products like an E-book (for example Magnetic Sponsoring or

Or you can offer other services like for example if someone buys a website and you referred them to the place to buy it- you get commission.

Or you might offer another marketing tool or service to your clients. Tools and services your target market will need, like an autoresponder.

What you do is attract your target market to you, offer them solutions to their problems and after establishing a relationship, over time you can make more sales on the back end.

These could be your coaching expertise, your MLM business or any other products or services you feel are worthy of your recommendations.

All the while you are generating an upfront cash flow so you can grow a thriving business. It’s smart.

It’s certainly nothing to be afraid of.

(Old School MLMers often have a lot of fear of losing their downline team if they start making money elsewhere. If you are Old School, you need to let this go, empower your team and help them to be successful in business. Monetisation during the building phase is vital for this in MLM, as it takes so much longer to build the supportive income.

 People need it in order to afford the marketing and afford to stay in business!
